The HabiStat Daylight Spotlamp can be use to create a basking area of high, localised heat. A reptile day light spot-lamp will provide an intense beam of light and heat which the animal can quickly warm itself. The lamp is designed to concentrate the heat in a small local area and is not designed to heat the whole vivarium.
 
The lamp wattage should not exceed the maximum rating of the bulb holder. The wattage required will depend on the size of the enclosure and the type of animal being heated and the temperature it requires. A Dimming thermostat should always be used to control the temperature of any heat lamp.
